Dry eyes, also known as dry eye syndrome, is a progressive and chronic condition that affects millions of Americans. Infrared ring illumination is also employed during the process, which helps to prevent glare-related reflex secretions when analyzing the tear film.

Light emitting diodes assist the OCULUS Keratograph® 5M in taking a range of key eye measurements. The ideal illumination has been integrated for each important metric; white diodes are used for tear film dynamics, infrared diodes for Meibography, and blue diodes are enacted to take fluo-images.
