OCULUS, Inc. would like to thank all customers who visited our booth at ASCRS in San Diego. This year we introduced the New JENVIS Dry Eye report, an exciting new software upgrade for the popular Keratograph® 5M and received great feedback by all. We enjoyed the opportunity to offer educational sessions to our existing customers to help answer any questions they had, as well as, networking with new customers to learn more about their needs.

We had a very good turnout at both Pentacam® Seminars on Saturday and Sunday. During Saturday’s session, our experts discussed reliable measurements of Astigmatism and total refractive power with the OCULUS Pentacam®. On Sunday, we had the pleasure of listening to Dr. Holladay explain the details of getting the most out of the Holladay Report on the Pentacam®. He demonstrated the best settings for optimal displays for the various color maps to make interpretation quick and easy for the busy clinician and so much more. OCULUS is pleased to announce the implementation of the Pentacam® data field on the online ASCRS IOL Calculator (www.iolcalc.org) for the IOL power calculation in eyes that have undergone myopic LASIK surgery.

Based on the results of a large study that has been published in the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery in February 2015, (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25661127), the Pentacam® data provides the best results when using the Pentacam® True Net Power value calculated in the 4mm zone, centered to the corneal apex with the no-history Shammas post-myopic LASIK formula. These results were even better than the Haigis L formula available in the IOL Master.

OCULUS will continue to provide cataract surgeons with the most reliable advanced diagnostic solutions to improve the surgical outcome and enhance the quality of care provided to patients.

It was a great Academy meeting in Chicago and OCULUS Inc. would like to thank all of our customers who were able to attend. This year’s meeting highlights were the two Pentacam® Breakfast Seminars where experts including Dr. Ike Ahmed, Dr. John Shammas, Dr. Thomas Kohnen, Dr. Michael Belin, and Dr. Jack Holladay spoke about Optimizing the Outcomes of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. This part of the OCULUS Booth is always a popular corner to discuss cases and calculations with Peers and Experts alike.
