OCULUS is pleased to announce the implementation of the Pentacam® data field on the online ASCRS IOL Calculator (www.iolcalc.org) for the IOL power calculation in eyes that have undergone myopic LASIK surgery.
Based on the results of a large study that has been published in the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery in February 2015, (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25661127), the Pentacam® data provides the best results when using the Pentacam® True Net Power value calculated in the 4mm zone, centered to the corneal apex with the no-history Shammas post-myopic LASIK formula. These results were even better than the Haigis L formula available in the IOL Master.
OCULUS will continue to provide cataract surgeons with the most reliable advanced diagnostic solutions to improve the surgical outcome and enhance the quality of care provided to patients.
